SPECIAL GUEST STORIES: Mary Anne Hamilton, widow of Alexander’s great-great grandson, Laurens Morgan Hamilton
August 25, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
FreeIn 1965, Mary Anne Clark was a struggling single mother of 5 when she met a big-talking, cash-flashing politician in a WA DC cocktail lounge where she worked as a waitress. Her manager told her that the man, who walked with a cane, was an heir to both JP Morgan and Alexander Hamilton. She was not impressed so she blew him off….repeatedly.
Hear amazing stories of how 65 year-old Laurens Morgan Hamilton successfully wooed 31 year-old Mary Anne Clark; they were married from 1966 to 1978 when he passed away.
Other stories may include Mary Anne’s subsequent successful career as a Realtor (her business card featured her picture in the middle of a ten dollar bill), her adventures around Washington DC (one of her connected friends unlocked several back doors enabling her to meet celebrities like Mother Teresa) and her generous contributions (some of the priceless family treasures have been distributed to appreciative historical organizations).
NOTE: As of Saturday, August 22, 2020, Rand Scholet, Founder of the Alexander Hamilton Awareness Society (The AHA Society), has been confirmed to host a special presentation on Mary Anne’s adventures, many of which were sponsored by The AHA Society.
